
Kenya’s Perpetual Muthoni Mbutu has been appointed as the new Deputy Secretary General of World Kabaddi.
World Kabaddi Secretary General S.T. Arasu had proposed her name for the vacant position and it was unanimously accepted by the Central Board that met online earlier today.
Perpetual is one of the elected Central Board from Africa and her place as a Board member will be filled on a later date.
She is also the Kenya Kabaddi Sports Federation and Africa Kabaddi Confederation competition director.
A former player, she is also the founder of Kenya National Police Service Kabaddi.
Her new position will see her more actively involved in the day to day running of the federation.
The 39-year-old Perpetual hails from in Kirinyaga but is currently living in Nairobi and works with the National Police Service of Kenya.
She comes with a strong background in sports. She is also the founder and head coach of one of the tiop athletics club in Kenya – Utawala Starts Sprints Club.
She is also actively involved in other sports including Kho Kho, Tchouckball and Cricket.
Her strong interest in youth engagement and life changing through sports will be ideal for her new role in World Kabaddi.
