The newly created World Kabaddi Strategic Plan Task Force held its first meeting online yesterday.

The Task Force main role is to ensure that the 2018-2028 Strategic Plan adopted by the body during its last Annual General Meeting meets its target.

The Task Force members are World Kabaddi president Ashok Kumar of England, vice-president Col. John Anthony Jackson of Scotland, secretary general S.T. Arasu of Malaysia and executive members Wyman Tang of Hong Kong, Tara Singh Bains of New Zealand and Perpetual Muthoni Mbutu of Kenya and Kate Wharton of New Zealand.

Members were briefed of the Task Force scope of work by the secretary. Owing to the huge task ahead, more members from around the world are expected to be roped in to assist the Task Force in implementing the programmes.

Speaking during the meeting, Ashok said it was important that everyone work as a strong unit to further strengthen the World Kabaddi.

As an ongoing process to empower the membership, World Kabaddi has also initiated regional meeting with members. The first of these meetings was held on Saturday with members of Kabaddi Pan America with the meeting with members from Kabaddi Africa scheduled for this weekend.
